8568 Excercise & Health Sciences EHS is more than muscle and sweat. You’ll learn how build muscle, lose or gain weight, improve power, and increase agility, but you’ll also learn anatomy and understand what happens physiologically when you’re exercising. You’ll have “aha” moments when the role of nutrition in performance and health begins to make sense. You’ll explore the mechanics of the body’s structure and the importance of core strength and stability. Students provide fitness assessments and customized fitness programs for each other and learn to program for people with special conditions or diseases. Workouts range from traditional weight training to conditioning on the TRX, agility drills, boot camps, and more at least four times per week. Trainers earn a CPR certification and prepare to take the American Council on Exercise Personal Trainer certification exam. *CEC Articulation Agreements
Students who successfully complete classes with articulation agreements receive advanced standing and/or college credit with the college or schools listed based on specific coursework completed during high school.
